Cannondale sponsored athlete, Mirinda Carfrae put on an impressive display Sunday as she ran down some of the top triathletes in the world to claim victory in the inaugural Revolution3 Triathlon, which took place in Middlebury, Ct, not far from the Cannondale HQ.

Mirinda had an ok swim, and was able to make up time on the bike and then crushed it on the run. On the podium, she credited her run to how fresh she felt transitioning off her Cannondale Slice. She said, “I had an OK swim which left me a little bit down,” said Carfrae. “But I think I got up on the right side of the bed, because I was able to bike away from some pretty strong girls (including 11-time Ironman-distance winner Belinda Granger, 2002 ITU World Champion Leanda Cave). Still, my work was cut out for me because I was 3:20 back of Natascha and a minute or two behind Rebeccah and Joanna. Luckily, I had my running legs today.”

At the expo area, Cannondale representatives confirmed their feelings that the word is getting out about how good the Slice really is. Visitors to the Cannondale tent kept repeating that they’d heard Chrissie Wellington chose Cannondale as her bike sponsor because she loved the Slice, that the bikes were reputed to be the most comfortable, light and stable bikes out there, that they wanted their next bike to be a Slice.

Jordan Rapp of Slowtwitch.com stopped by the expo area. He praised the Slice’s geometry, especially the stability. He also noted that the slightly revised geometry and increased trail allowed him to fit a wider range of riders on the bike.

Top of the class aerodynamics, the lowest weight of any production aero frame, incredible stiffness to weight, spot-on geometry and unparalleled comfort – the Cannondale Slice.
